The content: As a public record, an annual report must be accurate, credible and open. Over the course of the year  there is mammoth amount of information to digest, process and articulate to the public. If need be, we are able to draw on a team of copy writers who have oodles of experience in this field and are able to help you write informative and engaging content. Our writers can:

The print process: As a design studio we know print. We have worked with many printers over the years and know how the get the best finished result for your Annual Report. We are seasoned ‘pros’at the press and if it is a tricky print job with extra finishes (varnishes, bindings, embossing) we will be on site at the printers till the job is 100% perfect.

Some questions to discuss with your graphic designer.

1. Do I get a copy of the final artwork files and do I own them at the end of the annual report design project? All source files ideally, should be put on disk and handed over to you. All intellectual property should belong to your company. If you have bought images check f they are rights managed or royalty free. If rights managed see when the license expires and the cost for renewal. Also if you are going to publish the Annual Report online be carful as a rights managed image bought for the Report will incur and extra fee if used in the digital environment.
2. Will your company be able to supply the Annual Report so that it can be uploaded to the corporate web site? Some annual report designers will charge a fee for this so be aware of this added cost.
3. Can you advice us on the various paper stock finishes and options available? A credible graphic design studio should have an in depth knowledge of new paper samples and trends. Your designer should have a pro active approach with this and be able to run through these with you before commencing design.
4. Will my Annual Report be handled by a junior designer or someone senior. As Report can be quite complicated and it is the philosophy of Hopping Mad to entrust this responsibility with a senior designer. Obviously nothing goes out the door without the seal of approval from the creative director.
5. Changes to the Annual Reports financial section can be common, does your agency charge for each change? Most agencies will but at Hopping Mad Designs we know that the financials need to go through accountants and lawyers so there will be many rounds of amends. Therefore we are open to the many changes and happy to make these amends without charging for each one.
6. Can I see some past Annual Reports? A design studio worth their salt should have a least 2 or 3 Reports under their belt. Ask to see them and perhaps phone the communication department to find out about their experience. New design companies will obviously not be able to do this but perhaps look at their smaller brochures and pieces of other artwork to get an idea of their approach and style.
